The CHARNEY ARMY is a group of volunteers who carry out maintenance tasks in the village under the general guidance of the Parish Council.
Volunteers have taken on responsibility for various regular tasks like grass cutting and footpath maintenance which they do as required at a time to suit them. Occasionally there are larger, one-off tasks like minor flood prevention, painting or street cleaning which are carried out as a group task with volunteers asked to participate.
