Search Continues for a New Rector

The following message has been forwarded at the request of Doug Hughes, Church Warden and Parish Representative.

‘I regret to advise that after serious consideration the prospective candidate for Rector of this Benefice has decided to decline the offer.
I cannot reveal personal details for reasons of confidentiality.
The person concerned though felt that the challenges of a Multi Parish Benefice were possibly better suited to another.
Bishop Colin who is leading us recommends that we wait until New Year to commence a fresh recruitment process. Given the time required for advertising and selection I doubt that we shall select a new incumbent before March. The successful candidate is likely to have to serve notice with a projected start in June/July.
Meanwhile we are very fortunate to have the Ministry and Pastoral Care of Canon Michael O’Connor, Revd Tony Lynn and our LLM Richard Waterhouse together with a great team of Lay Members.
