News on the Neighbourhood Plan

CHARNEY BASSETT NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

Firstly a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to every household who took the trouble to complete and return THE CHARNEY BASSETT NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN QUESTIONNAIRE. The response has been truly phenomenal and gives us the best possible chance of reflecting the community’s wishes in the final PLAN. ORCC (Oxfordshire Rural Community Council) are now analysing the findings and will let us have the results shortly.

The results from the questionnaire will quantify what is important for the final report however we also need to test the environmental and community impact of some of the ideas coming from the original survey to back up those findings. We need to ask small groups of people from the community to take part in short 10 minute impact analysis exercises. It is important that those completing the impact exercises are not members of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee, although we will facilitate, as we need to have views from as many people in the community as we can. The sort of ideas we need to test might include traffic calming, what the positive, negative or neutral impacts may be.

To do this we are holding a Seminar on Saturday 11th October 2pm – 3.30pm in the Village Hall. We plan to start promptly at 2pm with a short introduction and then to split into small discussion groups. Each topic should take no longer than 10 minutes. Refreshments will be provided, so please come along and enjoy a little friendly debate.
